When

Monday July 1st – Sunday July 7th

What

Practice at the beginning of the week with racing on possibly Thursday but for certain  Friday. We plan to have a safety/coaching boat.
Participate in the annual Centerboard Regatta on Saturday and Sunday.

Accommodations:

  • If you want to camp, we / Pieter Versavel  have already made reservations for two sites at the Catavee campground from Monday 7/1 through Sunday morning 7/7. The sites are walking distance from the launch site.
  • If you rather not camp, Lakeside Resort may still have cabins and they are across the street from the boat ramp.
  • Other accommodations require driving to reach the launch site.

Why sail at Huntington Lake ?

Huntington Lake is in sunny California and surrounded by beautiful mountains. The daily mountain wind is very reliable and typically 10-14 knots between noon and 4 pm, ideal for sailing a SH skiff. Launching off and returning to the sandy beach is easy. The water is a bit chilly so a wetsuit is highly recommended.

Next step

If you plan to attend, email us your answers to the following:
  1. When do you think you will arrive ?
  2. Do you want to camp ?
  3. Do you plan to participate in the weekend regatta ? (To secure a start for the SH Skiff fleet at the Centerboard Regatta, we need to sign up early and do it in a coordinated fashion.)
Let us know if you have any questions for us.
